Enter to Win a Free Spot at Project Ember Overnight!
Who says girls can't rock power tools?
At Project Ember, we want to do our part to support young women in developing their skills as artists, makers, craftswomen, engineers - anything they want to be! That's why we've decided to raffle off a spot at our week-long overnight camp to one lucky girl at the Julia Morgan School for Girls. That's right; one girl's camp tuition will be absolutely free.
Entry is simple. Just fill out the form on the right, let us know which session(s) you're available for, and why you're excited about Project Ember. The raffle will close on Friday, June 1st, and a winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
In Her Words: From 3-Time Alumni And Junior Collaborator Anna
"Going to a maker camp is an empowering and influential part of my life. Participating in what is, for the most part, a prominently male field allowed me to better develop bonds with the women I worked with while also bettering myself. I was very fortunate to work with a group of all girls during one of the day camp weeks, and the dynamic of support and girl power was overwhelming! We all were able to work collaboratively and efficiently, with a pretty kick-butt fleet of snail scooters at the end of the week. On the final day, the confidence and pride for the project were clearly seen by everyone involved.
As for advice for girls considering going to a Maker camp, it feels like an obvious answer to me! But if someone is on the fence, they should know that you are guaranteed to be proud of your work by the end of the week, your knowledge of building will greatly expand, and the friendships that develop are just as valuable as the time spent constructing." - Anna
